SECURITY TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS TO PREVENT THE POPULATION OF COVID-19

COVID-19 pandemic has been changing society and business drastically. The world is facing a global crisis demanding to people and governments to take decisions that, according to many specialists, will shape a new world.

One of the certitudes is a pull of emergency measures involving surveillance mechanisms to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in the day by day situations. Smart cameras, drones, thermal cameras, video analytics, facial and object recognition, video management system (VMS) and, many other technologies are supporting this new combat.

Mirasys Video Management System, with its open platform VMS, is committed to that challenge. Below we listed some technologies and solutions used to prevent COVID-19 spread.

Social distance management

By CCTV system technologies, it is possible to establish a perimeter distance level between people. In real-time, the system can automatically identify if two or more people violate that perimeter alerting the authorities. Also, the system can generate reports based on data and analysis of video footage recorded for decision making by authorities.

Queue and crowd management

Following new norms of social distance, solutions to keep distance in queues and avoid crowds are vital for the resumption of operation in retail, airports, train and bus stations. Surveillance system makes it possible to identify these situations in real-time and help in decision making and action on the ground.

Thermal cameras

Many hospitals and airports around the world are putting in place thermal cameras to screen people and taking their temperature (fever is one of the symptoms of COVID-19) in order to reduce the risk of exposing other people to the disease.

Detection of face masks & PPE

Through technologies that use artificial intelligence, it is possible to identify people who are not wearing masks or, even in the case of health professionals, are using PPE (personal protective equipment) or not.

Integration

With different new technologies to combat COVID-19, an open platform video management system is also vital to integrate and manage all solutions. With Mirasys VMS, different types of cameras, sensors and IoT can be integrated to gather data and work wisely with that information for decision making.
