Mirasys VMS V9.6.2.2 Release Notes

1. Mirasys VMS V9 is only available as a 64-bit version.

2. A V9 Master Server (Management Server) can handle 64-bit V8 and V9 servers.

3. The Complete Installer will automatically install the SQL Server Express 2019 or upgrade an earlier SQL installation to 2019 on 64-bit systems.

4. A 32-bit (x86) SQL Server Express 2008 version will not be upgraded to the 64-bit (x64) SQL Server Express 2014. Update SQL manually before updating from an old 32-bit V7 to the latest 64-bit version!

5. The old "Spotter Mobile" does not support Apple iOS 11 or later versions on Apple iPhone or iPad devices.

6. Use the newer "Spotter Seven" instead (requires Mirasys VMS V7 or later).

  • Windows 11 (V9.4 or later)

  • Windows Server 2016

  • Windows Server 2019

  • Windows Server 2022 (since V9.5.0)


Notes on Upgrading to V9

  • All earlier versions can be upgraded to V9.

  • New version types Base, Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus will help to reach different market segments.

  • Version 9 will also contain a new user interface for the VCA configuration inside the System Manager.

  • Should there be a problem with image scaling in Spotter V9 and part of the image is not shown on the screen, go to Settings > Video > Video data format and enable RGB by clicking the radio button.

  • Most VCA settings from V7 or V8 to V9 will be automatically converted but must be reviewed.


V8 EOL and EOS

Effective on December 31st, 2022, Mirasys is announcing the End of Life or EOL of Mirasys VMS V8.

V8 EOS notification

Effective on March 31st, 2023, Mirasys is announcing the End of Support or EOS of Mirasys VMS V8. Mirasys reserves the right to discontinue providing support for the VMS V8 license on 31/03/2023. Mirasys Customer Service may consider providing support assistance for End of Support SoNware at an agreed-upon fee.

Spotter

  • Fixed: Spotter works as expected when users edit existing identities in the Smart List Management plugin.

  • Fixed: Storyboard export works without executing normal export first.

  • Fixed: Camera feature for corridor mode, and timestamp work in Smart Recognition and Smart Search.

  • Fixed: Smart Recognition and Smart Search plugins are displaying all ID data.

  • Fixed: Search results for unknown identity search in the Smart Search plugin.

  • Fixed: Spotter shows VCA metadata alarms correctly.

  • Fixed: The alarm popup shows alarms only if enabled for the action devices.

  • Fixed: Login works correctly when using Media Exporter and AD account.

  • Fixed: Input and output icons that are shown correctly in the alarm search

  • Fixed: Spotter works on start-up after large resolution has been logged in.

  • Fixed: The joystick device settings dialog layout stays the same when using the Saving Device button.

Spotter Web

  • Fixed: Date and time selection for playback works correctly on the timeline.

  • Fixed: The state of Digital Output and pulse can be changed in the UI.

  • Fixed: Missing icons for Digital Input and Digital Output have been added.

System Manager

  • Fixed: Adding the latest version of Recorder to an old version of SMServer is possible.

  • Fixed: Encrypt stream data checkbox is available in General Settings.

  • Fixed: System Manager is still working when log export compression fails.

  • Fixed: Manual log-off of users by Administrator working correctly.

  • Fixed: Possible to create several identities using the same name.

  • Fixed: Changes are saved when importing the camera list after changing the username or password.

  • Fixed: Streaming codecs are in the same order as viewing and streaming quality.

  • Fixed: Changes are visible when the custom GOV Length is changed in the System Manager

  • Fixed: VCA Core updated to V1.6.4 and works as expected during daylight savings time changes.

Drivers

  • Fixed: Onvif driver detects the right PTZ movement timeout.

  • Fixed: Bosch camera and camera-based motion detection does not stream if motion detection on camera is used, there is no motion and no opened streams in Spotter.

  • Fixed: Bosch Videojet 4000 encoder can be added as part of the VMS system with the latest Bosch driver.
