Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2025

October – International Cybersecurity Awareness Month – is a timely reminder of the importance of cybersecurity. At Mirasys, this translates into concrete actions to ensure the safety and reliability of our software solutions. As a company, we take responsibility for keeping our systems secure and up to date in an ever-evolving digital landscape.

We monitor the global cybersecurity landscape daily and assess how the components of our software respond to current threats – and, more importantly, how they are prepared to withstand future challenges.

As part of this commitment, we regularly test our software using third-party applications. This ensures that the data stored within the system remains protected from unauthorized access.

Cybersecurity is often built on small but impactful actions. The security of the Mirasys VMS software can be strengthened by following these best practices:

- Change the default passwords.

- Enable two-step login.

- Activate the system's internal communication encryption.

- Use HTTPS traffic protected with certificates in the cameras.

With these small steps, you can protect your software's login, so that it generates traffic on your own network or a public network.

In addition to these, it is also a good idea to consider the operating system itself and its protection. Mirasys software runs on the Windows operating system produced by Microsoft, for which security updates are regularly released. It is recommended to keep these up to date to prevent potential vulnerabilities from being exploited and to ensure that unauthorized access to the system or stored material is effectively blocked.
